If we make an adequate use of the human being sources, touching the most authentic feelings, we can reach success, no matter the conditions. I share this thought regarding a recent experience we had at Latino Press. Weeks ago I received a call from a friend, Sylvia, asking to help Verito, a Mexican girl that had lost her vision because of medical procedures when she and her twin sister Bella were born premature in Chihuahua, Mexico. The doctors in Mexico didn’t give hopes for Verito to recover. The two years old came to Michigan with her mother Veronica and godmother Diane to have the best ROP Specialist in the world checking up her eyes. After the consultation there were hopes through performing eyes surgeries immediately. They visited our building Latino Press on February 17th and shared with us their need of help. Cecilia Hijar, who is part of Latino Press staff, started knocking on doors.</p> <p style="text-align: justify">Through clients, financial institution, Consulate of Mexico and friends then groups of supporters started to join the campaign to support them for the surgeries. Now, after four weeks we have the enormous satisfaction of the happy ending of the story; it has been raised an important part of the procedure’s cost. Verito had her surgeries and with the time is expected that she will be improving. The miracle was possible. In these difficult moments we’re all facing, this example may help us to know.. It is always possible! I’m very grateful and happy that Verito gave us the opportunity to be blessed, distracting us from our concerns and focusing to make an impact in the life of this little girl. Reaching the goal was through the help of so many, especially from the group “Fe en Movimiento” (Faith in Motion). They planned a fund raise through a successful lunch with an estimate of over 500 guests. All who participated, we could feel the strength of the motion!
